Willow

Considered one of the most beautiful and untouched areas in England, the Lake District is characterized by rolling hills, green clumps of forest and dozens of lakes, as this area of the British Isles receives some of the highest rainfall. The remains of an ancient willow forest and immense stretches of limestone lie beneath the hillsides, forming a layer of peat and chalk that serves to effectively filter ground water as it passes through. High in minerals like calcium and showing trace amounts of salicin from seeping through the layers of ancient willows, this water has a unique chemical profile. Salicin is the active ingredient in willow bark that the ancients used as an effective painkiller, still in use today. Willow water is also high in calcium, with a liter providing almost a quarter of suggested daily intake. With its crisp taste and unique properties, Willow is both healthy and delicious.
