Icelandic Glacial is a brand of bottled water sourced from a natural underground spring in Iceland. Iceland's Olfus Spring was formed more than 5,000 years ago when a huge volcanic eruption occurred in this particular area. This eruption created layers of lava rock, which today help keep the water in this region free of contaminants and pollution. Since the water used for this brand comes from the rain and snow that falls in this region, it is considered to be a renewable resource. Not only is the water used for the Icelandic Glacial brand obtained from a renewable resource, the facility used to bottle the water also helps the environment by using a sustainable method of operation. This facility is operated using power that comes from hydroelectric and geothermal processes. As a fully automated bottling facility it is also considered to be one of the cleanest and greenest in the world.
